The 2022 T20 World Cup has ended. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup now belongs to England. Pakistan defeated New Zealand in their first semifinal game, which Pakistan won. With this victory, Pakistan became the first side to advance to the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup final. England defeated India with a score of 10 wickets in the second semi-final game, moving through to the finals as the second team.

West Indies won the 2012 Twenty20 World Cup.
The 2012 T20 World Cup was won by West Indies when they defeated Sri Lanka by 36 runs in the championship match.  In addition to losing to Australia in their opening game of the 2012 ICC T20 World Cup, West Indies also took home the title. Shane Watson of Australia won Player of the Series and scored the most runs at this World Cup, while Ajantha Mendis of Sri Lanka was the bowler with the most wickets.

England won the 2010 Twenty20 World Cup.
The 2010 T20 World Cup was won by England. With this victory, England won the 2010 T20 World Cup for the first time without an Asian opponent. Australia was defeated by England by 7 wickets in the championship match. The English team had fallen to the West Indies in their opening match, but went on to win the rest of their matches and take home the championship. In the 2010 T20 World Cup, Kevin Pietersen of the winning squad was named player of the series.

Pakistan won the 2009 Twenty20 World Cup.
Pakistan won their first 120 World Cup two years after placing second in the first T20 World Cup. This competition was held in England, and Pakistan won by defeating Sri Lanka in the championship match by an 8-wicket margin. Pakistan lost both their Super 8 encounter against Sri Lanka and their opening game versus England. They succeeded in winning the trophy, nevertheless. Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan was the Player of the Series and the leading run scorer in this competition.

India won the 2007 T20 World Cup.
Under MS Dhoni's leadership, the Indian cricket team became the first to win the T20 World Cup. India won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 by defeating Pakistan in the championship match.
